Carnivals are so much fun but not always accessible to disabled community. Carnival Games for the Wii is perfect to bring that experience into your home with over 25 different games, with some un-lockable bonus games as well.

Carnival Games initially offers up the 25 different minigames to play. These challenges run the gamut including skee ball, target shooting, knocking over milk containers with a baseball, and classic test-of-strength games. All of these games use the Wii Remote in one fashion or another.

Skee ball is mechanically just like the bowling game from Wii Sports; making it very easy for a one handed gamer or anyone with limited mobility. The ring-toss game has you flicking the Wii Remote as if you were actually tossing a ring, which is a little more challenging and requires a lot of precision.

Anything that involves throwing a ball requires you to fling the remote forward in an overhand motion, sort of like passing the football in the Madden franchise, which can be frustrating because you have to have a lot of precision and a lot of range of motion with your arm and shoulder.

Carnival Games such as the milk toss and the shooting gallery are a lot easier, people with most abilities can play with ease. The shooting gallery is one my favorites because it is fun and helps get some aggression out and is great to play with friends. But Football Toss and the "nerves-o-steel" game, which has you moving a metal ring over an electrified wire while trying to avoid getting shocked, just doesn’t feel right at all. They're not impossible, but the controls feel too dodgy to allow for any level of consistent success and can be very frustrating.

Visually, the game leaves a lot to be desired. For example, you can create an avatar to represent yourself. You get the impression that the game was at one time going to use Miis, or was at least heavily inspired by them, since you build the same sort of limbless people.

The problem here is that the customization is extremely limited and most of the characters expressions are crazy looking and odd. All the in-game graphics are grainy and bland, with artwork and textures that barely compete with some of the GameCube's ugliest games; or so I am told since I never owned a GameCube. Colorblind gamers may have a little bit of an issue because of the high contrasting colors of greens reds and some yellows and no lack of indicators.

As far as audio goes, all you miss is the annoying barker and the sound quality is a lacking. But the subtitles make up for it as all of the game’s instructions are subtitled. Overall, for some quick and easy carnival games that has variety and accommodate up to four players this is a great game!

Hearing

All subtitled and most of the sounds are just annoying.
Recommended score: 9/10

Visual

Graphics not great but it does the trick! A lot of high contrasting colors may cause an issue for colorblind gamers.
Recommended rating: 5/10

Mobility

Play with just the wii remote. Some games are easier than others but there is something for all skill levels.
Recommended score: 5/10
