Everyone knows Americans are getting bigger by the day, and teenagers are no exception. The problem is most people are too lazy to get up and actually do anything about it. This year Nintendo released Wii Fit, which is an exercise game that will tell you how in shape you are based on your body mass. It then gives you 40 or so different types of exercises to help you get in shape in the comfort of your own home. Parents are starting to buy there kids Wii Fit and I kind of have a problem with this. What ever happened to sending your kids outside to play? I remember a time when parents would make their little fatties go outside during the day rather then staying inside all day like a whale beached on the couch. It's apparently ok to be the best Madden player in your school and yet have never touched a football. Time to lay off the kids for a moment.

Of course, there's always not stuffing the newest fast food concoction into your face. Just using Wii Fit is not going to deal with your eating habits. I also tend to be skeptical about any exercise program used within 100 feet of a refrigerator. I can just see someone working out with a 2 liter of Mountain Dew, Cheetos, and a plate of hot wings sitting on the coffee table. I can just hear it now "Man , I've been working out all week but I've gained 5 pounds." Well yeah, if your using Wii Fit and still eating the wrong way your not going to get much slimmer. In the long run Wii Fit will become a novelty and everyone will realize it takes more then wiggling your ass on a little white board to get lose weight.
