Ah, tower defense, as old as Web games go back, yet one of the most celebrated genres in history. This week we bring you one of the best, and the fourth in the series, Ioo’s Web game of the week presents Bloons Tower Defense 4.

Bloons is one of the most recognized tower defenses around. With their trademark super monkey tower, Bloons is pretty much exactly what it sounds. You must prevent an onslaught of balloons from reaching the end goal. You accomplish this by laying down towers around the track.

There are several old favorites back this time, ice tower, canon tower, spike tower and more.  In addition, there are several new towers that had quite an interesting flair to the game. You have a tower that spits glue, another that sits on the water and fires harpoons, and my personal favorite, airplane towers that drive around your course in a figure 8 attacking balloons and dropping pineapple bombs.

Every tower has multiple levels of upgrades and other towers are specifically designed to give power ups to the towers that attack. Oh, and the funny tower, the banana farm, which does nothing except give you money by farming bananas.

My favorite part of the game is the fast-forward button.  For those who are impatient like I am, you simply hold the mouse down over the fast-forward button and the wave it is over in a matter of seconds. You can play a complete game within 20 minutes.

Game accessibility

The accessibility is simple. All of the game's controls are done via the mouse. Mobility impaired gamers will have no problem with this title. One-handed gamers will also be at ease with this tower defense.

Colorblind gamers may have some difficulty as the balloons come in a variety of colors.  However, as long as the balloons die, it really doesn't matter what color the balloon is.

Deaf gamers will have no problem playing the game because every instruction is carried out in text. The only sounds of the game are the annoying background music files.

For the cognitively impaired, each wave is started by pressing the start button, which will give you ample time to lay down your towers.

Overall, a very fun game with a decent amount of accessibility.

PikachuMom I've been making videos of my characters in Perfect World International recently. Just hop on YouTube, and go to LadyDeerskin's channel, to take a look at my work. Im new to this, so far, its just glorified slide shows, but i hope to learn how to use Fraps, and really get down to some serious fun! ^_^ 01:37 AM
