{sidebar id=1}I don't know about you but one of the things I despise the most is when you are minding your own business being a robotic manufacturing plant and all of a sudden an enemy robotic manufacturing plant shows up. You're like, “do you mind?” And they are like, “no, do you?” Next thing you know your robots clash.
This week's AbleGamers web game of the week is a side scrolling strategy game by MoFunZone. You are in command of a robotic manufacturing plant that constantly produces robots but on the other side of the map is the enemy producing their own robots. The object of the game is to defeat the enemy base (bet you didn't see that coming).
At the bottom of the screen is your equipment manager. As soon as you research one of the various types of equipment, a smaller circular button will appear in the upper left-hand corner. Click this button in order to drop your armor and weapon of choice, which will be immediately picked up by the next advancing robot.
One interesting thing is that you can mix and match various types of armors and weapons, and the combinations of armor plus particular weapons produce different types of units once combined. As you continue to research these different types of equipment the timer on how often you can click the button is reduced.
Colorblind friendly, this game uses pink and black as its main colors. When the armor or weapon of choice is ready to be dispersed it will turn into a highlighted pink color and move up to the top of the left-hand side of your screen. In addition, the audio was annoying and I immediately turned it off.
There are no keyboard shortcuts and must be controlled by the mouse alone. Also, later on in the game there may be specific strategy to the types of equipment you research first or more often (for example, the sniper rifle is extremely useful) but for the most part the game is very forgiving about item distribution. Cognitive players should be able to get through each level by simply dropping the next item as it is available.
Overall, an interesting little time waster but nothing amazingly spectacular yet pretty accessible. The camera automatically follows the action meaning there's no scrolling to worry about. When it's time to drop some items the camera automatically moves back to your base then back to your front-line attackers. If you're into side scrolling strategy games, this one might just be your cup of tea.
