My son is a c5 quad who was a huge gamer before his injury. we bought the controller and he hates it. Is anyone out there that likes is and had about the same level of injury? Any tips? He tried it for xbox and we are trying to get it to work on his pc not much luck. Tried contacting quasimoto but it goes to voicemail

There are a lot of gamers out there who have some sort of issue that could be treated, but there's a stigma towards it and some people don't even know where to look.

Until the beginning of this year, I was in that crowd. I was often called lazy/slow/etc, and I never knew I was bipolar/autistic since I'd never been to an actual professional.

What can be done to incentivize helping oneself?

This youtube video shows how I modded my controller so I could play Call of duty better. The R1 button has a lever and I'm sure the R2 button could be done the same way. Hope this helps a few of you to!

BTW I'm not sure if it's my pc, but the section of the Boardcode where you can Bold, Underline, Etc. When my mouse hovers over the bar, I can see what the action is but the entire line above the smiley faces is blank. Both IE8 & FF11

in my opinion the session length is way too short when it comes to posting comments that are a bit longer than the usual ones. Anybody who is not used to copying the comment he has written just now,would have sat screaming in front of his computer because another rather lengthy text has gone to computer's void.

I can see two solutions:
either some kind of forum plug-in that makes sure that drafted (or not yet submitted) text won't end up in nirvana, or longer sessions. so what will it be? (Jeopardy! music playing...)

Hi guys, long time since ive been on the forums. League of Legends is just too hard to get away from. First up Tribes Ascend looks awesome, plus its FREE TO PLAY!! There is a little problem tho, its super fast paced. Not only do I have to run and strafe plus shoot, jumping/jetpack is a major thing. I only have two working arms lol. In the pasted Ive voiced jump since its not that big a deal I cant really in Tribes. So any quads out there playing and if so whats your setup?

ADOM II is a rogue-like game that is currently in development. It is a sequel to what I consider one of the best rogue-likes ever made, and I'm really looking forward to it. In the devState for the game, the developer, Thomas Biskup, recently announced that he would like to add support for the blind and otherwise disabled to the game. He doesn't have any experience with doing so, however, and I thought I would mention it here. I personally have no experience with adding this type of support to a game. If someone here does have such experience and is interested in helping a game developer add the support, I'm sure that he would welcome you reaching out to him.

Hi all i'm looking for an old style joystick but needs to be usb, the new ones are too big for my hand and i can't hold them plus they are too tall as well, i mainly use a mouse and kb for all my gaming, would really like to find someone here in New Zealand that could mod my mouse with a out side switch so i can use the right button more. i have a video on youtube here is the link: youtu.be/jTQGqpSo82w it shows how i play most of my games no matter what the game is i setup the keys mostly the same way.

Hello everyone,

My name is Jan, Im from Warsaw, Poland and I have spinal cord injury. I have no leg, hand, and almost no arm movement (I’m able to move my shoulders a bit). I’m looking for some help with my gaming setup.
I use a head mouse www.madentec.com/products/tracker-pro.php along with www.orin.com/access/sip_puff/ so I am able to play games with a „click to move” or „point & click” options. But I would realy love to play more types of games such as First Person Shooters or „Skyrim type” rpg’s
I didnt realise that there are so many diffrent possibilities to play games for disabled people until I discovered Ablegamers website about 3 months ago. I have to admit that I was stunned when started to search through the forum and was overwhelmed by the amount of information. I had no idea that there even were such thing as „a disable gaming topic” so it took me a long time to take it all in.
As far as I read the Ablegamers forum and searched through some websites like www.enablemart.com/ www.abledata.com/abledata.cfm I saw many things that I could use (at least I think so) and have some questions about specific hardware which I’d be keen to buy:

1. Headmouse: I saw that you recommend the SmartNav as the best head mouse. Do you think I should change my www.madentec.com/products/tracker-pro.php for the SmartNav? Or maybe these two are comparable?

2. The Adroit Switchblade or/and www.piengineering.com/xkeys/xkswi.php

What’s the difference between these two?; Maybe I should buy both?

3. www.enablemart.com/Catalog/Sensitive-Switches/Sensor-Switch or www.enablemart.com/Catalog/Sensitive-Switches/Sensor-Switch-Kit

Is the cheaper one ok.? Is it worth to buy it or maybe I should buy the more expensive one (Is it much better?)

So, I've got a condition called NVLD.

When I game, I tend to learn things automatically. Like, if I'm losing to a strategy, I'll subconsciously shift how I play to match it. This has led to me being seen as pretty good at games among my circle of friends.

The problem is that the subconscious shifting doesn't allow me to actually ever improve at anything I play, and any time I try, I get overwhelmed and fall back on my old semi-automatic play.

Does anyone have any advice on battling past this and improving in games?
