Bigpoint Games has big announcements at this year’s GDC. First, Poisonville is the 3rd-person gangster action MMORPG which can be played right in your browser without downloads or installations. Poisonville is a fictional city in the USA where four bad-ass gangs fight for honor, glory and power. Crime and corruption rule the streets.

The game play consist of heists, deliveries and retrieval missions, which are just a few of the “jobs” players can accept and fulfill by using different kinds of vehicles such as bikes, choppers, jet skis, cars and trucks. This is very much like the Grand Theft Auto series.

How you interact with the characters will determine how much of a reputation and respect your character will get. So, it’s important to keep a good balance of good and bad karma within the game.

The characters appearance also plays a large role in the game play, the better the duds, the better the chances are of getting classier jobs or accessing exclusive nightclubs.

As with the other games at Bigpoint, Poisonville will be available to play for free. Users can spend a little pocket change on virtual goods to receive cosmetic and gameplay advantages in the if desire. The release of the full version of Poisonville is available in Europe, and the international rollout will take place in 2010.

In terms of the games being accessible that is yet to be determined. They are still testing the game for accessibility and will let us know. As far as I know, the game will have to be played with a mouse and a keyboard together but because it is a browser based game you can use an on-screen keyboard and reprogram some of the settings.

Second. 2010 will bring Battlestar Galactica Online, a tactical space combat and adventure MMOG based upon Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica series. The MMOG, inspired by one of the most popular science fiction series in television history, will launch worldwide exclusively this fall on Syfy.com for a 30 day period.

This is a big step for Bigpoint because Battlestar Galactica is the gripping saga of humanity's last remnants and their struggle to find a new home while fleeing from their deadly Cylon enemies.

Redefining the space opera with its gritty realism, Galactica's intensity, issues-driven topicality, and command performances have garnered it numerous awards, including three Emmy® Awards and the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award.

We will keep an eye on these titles as they get closer to launching.

So...BSG Online will only last 30 days? That seems like an odd business plan.

I can prove all of the following statement in a court of law by using emails and people.
Bigpoint is a con, the people at the top are ignorant, greedy and very selfish.
I am tired of them conning me time and again and I have only been associated with them for nine months.
The support team never seem interested in anything the paying customers have to say, they just sweep our complaints under the carpet. I have been unable to play the game on 3 occasions because of coding errors and have dropped in rank by what cost me roughly over £100 and hard work to attain. Not once did I receive an apology or any compensation. Therefore, I have wasted money on their game. I call it being robbed.
And the support team constantly accused me of being a cheat which was later proven to be another coding error. I was told by a support member that even if I attempt to go higher with this that any email will end up back with them, that’s how obnoxious they are. “Fine, any communication in english gets back to the english supporters anyway, nevermind where you sent it”
All complaints are swept under the carpet. Their site has a gold premium package that costs £35 for 12 months use, they are giving people 9 months use in the hope that people won't notice, seeing as it continues to the next year if not cancelled. I unexpectedly cancelled mine which they didn't notice, and a month later my premium ended after only 9 months of use. When I noticed this and enquired about it to their so-called support team, they blocked my account. And that is after I have spent hundreds of pounds on their site. They didn't like the fact that I discovered their scam and have covered their tracks by messing with my account.
DarkOrbit is running one big scam and their coders are useless, maybe the people at the top at bigpoint did or didn’t know about this but, I believe they do. I suggested they look into this, although, I know it will all be denied.
Their support team keep telling me to go away and get a lawyer, they know how difficult it will be for me to prove anything.
They have no respect for people whatsoever and whine like babies when we lose our temper with them.
How can a site that is so big and popular be so nasty to people?
I am very disappointed with this site, and it has made me very discouraged about joining any other sites.
Please don't waste your time and money on this con of a site.
The people at DarkOrbit are running a con and I'm sure Bigpoint know about this seeing as the so-called support team are linked to Bigpoint.
The people at the top ignore all contact I make with them, they are not interested in the slightest. They are ignorant little robbers.
You can't get any satisfaction with that company, the people at the top will have nothing to do with your disputes and will either delete or forward it to support who will then either ignore it or attempt to make you feel small.
The people at the top are only interested in emails coming from supporters of the company.
It's only a matter of time before this is all revealed.
I hate the lot of them, they get rich from conning us, throw parties and expect to get away with it.
Why do you think they have won so many awards?
They hide all the complaints away, people are not seeing the truth but, hopefully it will all come out in time.

Well, no offense, but that just sounds like standard operating procedure for most (but not all) micro-transaction-driven games. Any time a game is built entirely on a model which allows people to throw money at it in order to get better stuff & become more 1337/competitive, there will inevitably be people that get the short end of the stick. Unless the company doesn't know how to run a business, said people will be the players.

All I have to say is that I agree that Bigpoint is rubbish.I was playing 1 year deepolis and i spent over 1000 euros to their stupid game.Suddenly they decided to take 25% of my levels with the excuse that I didnt follow the rules. They could not even tell me why and same thing happened to 5 more players I know.People in support think they are Gods and they dont care about the money Bigpoint will lose.My advice issmilies/cheesy.gifONT USE BIGPOINT.Their games have only a nice cover on the outside but in the inside they suck.
