• No Barriers to Fun!

We met our friend Giddeon at the AbleGamers Accessibility Arcade in Atlantic City, New Jersey. When he first sat down with the AbleGamers crew, Giddeon didn't want to play any games. About the AbleGamers Foundation

Since 2004, the AbleGamers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, has served more than 56 million members of the disabled community by advocating greater access in video games. Today, AbleGamers is a leader in the development of equipment, programs and services to those living with disabilities, hardships, and quality-of-life issues that are a result of chronic illness or trauma. It is our goal to ensure that all people, regardless of their disability, can use gaming as a tool to have enriched social experiences with friends, family, and the world at large.

We are Just Getting Started

michelle_and_mark.jpgHey AbleGamers Readers! Mark and I have registered (after MANY annoying redirects to stand at the wrong place to get our badges to get pointed back to where we started…). But we’re Speakers so it was super fast regardless…membership has it’s privileges. ☺

So today all the summits started, including Serious Games, AI, and more! Of course because GDC doesn’t “officially” start until Wednesday, every minute of today and tomorrow is filled with meetings and interviews with reporters…and about 8 parties a night, which is where all the “real” GDC content happens (drunk gaming celebs love to tell their tales! And we’re here to listen and drink right with them!).

The International Game Developers Association SIG Chair meeting is about to start over at Moscone North (BTW – last year? GDC was in two buildings…this year? Three. Take that GDC recession grumps – everyone here just wants to feel the game love!). So we’re headed over there to discover what’s new for IGDA members…then Project SUPER SECRET starts at 2pm but we can’t WAIT til they let us tell you about it! Able will cover it first! ☺ Stay Tuned!

xoxo
