People from a bunch of different gaming companies are going to be there. Ubisoft, SEGA, EA. Not to mention exhibitors from the computer industry, various other technology-related places, and table-top gaming.
Celebrities will be there too. Jsu Garcia from Wes Craven's Nightmare on Elm Street, a few people from Clerks, The Guild, Stargate: Atlantis, and some members of the CKY Crew. Of course, I'm most excited about getting to see Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation fame. And with at least 7 bands playing, including some video game music cover bands, I'm probably going to catch a few performances as well.
What I'm trying to say is, this is a pretty big deal for the gaming industry, and AbleGamers will be in it, being a part of it. There are going to be playable versions of EA's Dante's Inferno and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, SEGA's BAYONETTA, Ubisoft's Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage, Hi-Rez's Global Agenda, and Storm by Spark Plug Games.
What we'll be doing is going there and interviewing people in and related to the industry, covering events, demos, and presentations, and just seeing what's what at this whole thing. All I can really say is that by the end of it, I expect to have some utterly awesome experiences and articles to share with everyone.
I am just so excited! Incredibly. This'll be my first expo, my first video game related event, and it looks to be a really exciting one. I'll be joined by Mark Barlet, who has also never attended GameX, so it should be pretty exciting for both of us. I haven't even mentioned the various tournaments, none that I'll be participating in, but still awesome. Alienware is holding a gauntlet of PC gaming elimination challenges and GameX is holding three Rock Band 2 tournaments. There will also be a head-to-head Super Art Fight, comedy improv, and a presentation on LARPing.
There's the steampunk art competition, an animation festival, all sorts of stuff. I really hope to see you all there. It'll be at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Phoenixville, PA. It all starts this Friday at 9:30AM, tickets available at the door.
