He told us that with his disability gaming was difficult. Giddeon has a rare disease that caused the growth of his arms .. Read More

AbleGamers to get One-on-One Time with Developers at Blizzcon

wow3.jpg{sidebar id=3}{sidebar id=1}Greetings AbleGamers!  As of today, we can confirm that AbleGamers has been granted interview time with some of the leading developers from Blizzard entertainment.  Our crew will be posting interviews about some of the world's most interesting games including World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, and Starcraft 2.

We will be asking some hard-hitting questions about accessibility options and control schemes for the upcoming titles, as well as checking in on the continuing accessibility to World of Warcraft.  AbleGamers has been granted to three separate interviews in a sit-down, one on one, setting with some of your favorite developers from each of the blockbuster titles.

You see, Blizzard has always been a very good friend to the AbleGamers Foundation.  In fact, they were one of the very first game development companies to speak to us about possible ways to improve their title's accessibility.  We have a long-standing relationship and have asked many of the questions about Warcraft and Diablo 3 already, which can be found on our site in the archives or by clicking the links above.

Our initial thought was to use the extra time given to us by Blizzard to play a game of beer pong with the developers.  Then we thought, wait a minute, we should involve the fans!  Therefore, that is exactly what we are going to do.

If you have a question you would like asked on your behalf to the Blizzard development team, please enter it in the comments below.  One question will be chosen from each game title and presented to the appropriate developer.  Please clearly state which game the question is aimed at then the question itself.  If your question is chosen, your username, or real life name if you choose, will appear with your question and the developer's answer in an article on AbleGamers.com.

Enter your question below!

I was always very disappointed that I couldn't complete the old epic hunter quest for [Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers] due to it being focussed on kiting and strafing, both of which I as a one-handed gamer can't do.

World of Warcraft

End game raiding tends to favor those who can react and push buttons quickly, which causes some frustration for people with reaction time issues. I understand the challenge with trying to keep the elite players happy and the reason behind the "one keypress = one action" rule, but are there any plans to make end-game a little more friendly for the cognitively-impaired?
