As we wind down our time with the year 2009 and prepare to embark on a thrilling new year, we thought we would take a moment and look back at some of what happened in the 2009 accessible gaming movement being spearheaded by AbleGamers.
- Blizzard adds accessibility options for the colorblind
- Warhammer online adds accessibility for the mobility impaired with on-screen keyboards
- AbleGamers works with the developers of some new technology to make it more accessible
- AbleGamers works closely with developers of games to point out what makes them accessible
- We made new friends with tremendous talent and even bigger hearts
- We lost one of our best writers, Corey Krull, whose article on muscular dystrophy and gaming was one of our most popular pieces ever
- AbleGamers and Mark Barlet was featured on MSN
- Crispy Gamer's interview with Mark Barlet and Steve Spohn was featured on MSN
- We reached over 3.5 million hits per month not including spammers
- Added a new section for Web games that are extremely accessible
So what's coming up for the next year?
- More conference attendance than ever before
- Big-name interviews
- More content
- New secret sections being worked on as we speak
- And much, much more
