Ioo's Web Game of the Week : Circles And Squares

circle_and_squares{sidebar id=1}In a new twist on an old favorite, this week's Ioo Web game of the week circles and squares features innovative puzzle solving with a familiar theme.  The object is simple; maneuver all of the red objects off of the board while keeping the blue objects in their designated areas.

Each level has certain designated spots that are shaded blue. These particular areas are where the blue objects must stay for a few seconds while there are no red objects on the board.  In order to move the objects around this game takes a slightly different approach.

Instead of maneuvering the objects around the board, you are given control of the board. You can spin the entire level 360° in both directions. Tilting the board to one side or the other will cause the objects to slide or fall in that direction.

After some practice, you can spin the level, dropping objects and catching them on the other side.  In addition, by clicking on the objects with shift you can increase the size of the object. Conversely, you can hold shift and click to decrease the size.  Changing the size of the objects is often necessary in order to maneuver around obstacles in the level.

Overall, the game is accessible to most disabled gamers.  You must use the mouse by clicking and holding somewhere on the screen in order to spin the level around.  Unfortunately, there are no keyboard shortcuts.

There are no notable audio cues does everything is explained in text. Moreover, the game is very intuitive and you will catch on to flipping the objects around with ease.  There is also little chance of any colorblind issues. The objects are either blue or red and easily discernible from one another.

Go on.  Give spinning levels a try with circles and squares today!
