About the AbleGamers Foundation

Since 2004, the AbleGamers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, has served more than 56 million members of the disabled community by advocating greater access in video games. Today, AbleGamers is a leader in the development of equipment, programs and services to those living with disabilities, hardships, and quality-of-life issues that are a result of chronic illness or trauma. It is our goal to ensure that all people, regardless of their disability, can use gaming as a tool to have enriched social experiences with friends, family, and the world at large.

AbleGamers Web Game of the Week: Sieger

{sidebar id=1}In the ever-increasing line of castle destroying physics games, one of them stands out from the rest. We already reviewed that one.  This week AbleGamers Web game of the week features the runner up: Sieger.

Just as you would expect, the game comes with several levels and one castle in each one that must be destroyed.  However, unlike the other games where you need to launch a projectile through the air with some amount of luck or skill, this one allows you to click on the exact spot you want to start bringing down the structure.

With 28 levels, you can complete the entire game in less than 20 minutes. You are only given three different shots including stone, gas, and explosive.  While not the most sophisticated game, Sieger is entertaining if you are into destructible environments.

Unfortunately, there are no keyboard shortcuts. The only way to play this game is with the mouse or other clicking device.  There are no important audio cues and every bit of information needed to play the game is written out in easy-to-read text.

sieger_splashIronically or accidentally, Armor shaded the people you're not supposed to kill in a blue highlighted color. This completely avoids any accidental colorblind issues.  Ordinarily, developers tend to make the good guys green and the bad guys red, which can be a nightmare for the colorblind. Blue highlighted objectives cut right through most colorblind issues, unless of course blue is the color you can't see but only a very small percentage of colorblind gamers have trouble seeing blue.

For a good waste of 20 minutes on a slow day, you could do a lot worse than a castle destroying game like Sieger.  On a side note, we promise not to do any more web games of the week involving castles for at least another week.
