AbleGamers' Web Game of the Week: Laser Cannon 2

laser_cannon_2

{sidebar id=1}This week’s AbleGamers web game of the week comes complete with freakin’ lasers. I mean really, who doesn't like lasers? Laser Cannon 2 is the sequel to the smash hit physics web game Laser Cannon. As you would imagine, you play the role of a laser cannon with the mission of destroying fuzzy little creatures walking around precarious environments. You'll have the opportunity to fry them, squish them, shoot them and shove them into burning hot lava. Need I say more?

The accessibility is quite simple. You need to use the mouse primarily but the keyboard is also necessary for a few select levels. There is not a lot of precision needed, for the most part you can name in the general direction and shoot your fuzzy enemy. However, there is always that one level or two where timing is everything. You'll need to use both the mouse and keyboard as quickly as possible to complete the level. I was able to complete the entire game with only the mouse and my on-screen keyboard.

All instructions are displayed via text in easy-to-read fonts. There are no visual cues and no colorblind issues to worry about. The levels are not timed per se, but there are two levels in which specific steps must be used in a timely fashion for the level to complete. I was able to get by the levels by not worrying about how many shots I was taking and simply getting through the level. However, the object of the game is to complete the game using as few shots as possible.

Overall, a fairly accessible web game with a good number of levels and fun.
