We met our friend Giddeon at the AbleGamers Accessibility Arcade in Atlantic City, New Jersey. When he first sat down with the AbleGamers crew, Giddeon didn't want to play any games. About the AbleGamers Foundation

Since 2004, the AbleGamers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, has served more than 56 million members of the disabled community by advocating greater access in video games. Today, AbleGamers is a leader in the development of equipment, programs and services to those living with disabilities, hardships, and quality-of-life issues that are a result of chronic illness or trauma. It is our goal to ensure that all people, regardless of their disability, can use gaming as a tool to have enriched social experiences with friends, family, and the world at large.

PS3 Sales Turning Around?

Maybe Sony has finally gotten the numbers right on the PS3, because sales figures coming out of the UK have spiked considerably. What is the magic here? They've lowered the price, lowered the hard drive inside and lowered the standards. The new budget PS3 has resolved the constant headache that has been cursing Sony: how to make the PS3 play PS2 games. Reports are they have been spending a lot of time building "emulation" software so that it will play PS2 games. Done, they have thrown in the towel with this new model.

This may also be a boost to the Blu-Ray format, if you will recall this was the secret weapon of Sony to push the new HD Format into every house, the formula was that the PS3 would be smash hit, and would have a side effect of putting a Blu-Ray player in those homes as well. Well as the PS3 has flounder so goes the format (that if you look at stat for stat is a better format).

Now the second part of this story is that the Xbox has seen a decline in sales. I think this is mainly because Halo 3, those that wanted this game needed the Xbox. Now that the heat has cooled on Halo 3, so has the sales of the Xbox. We will have to wait for another red hot game and see what is really going on in the console wars. Wait, does PS3 have a red hot game?
