About the AbleGamers Foundation

Since 2004, the AbleGamers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, has served more than 56 million members of the disabled community by advocating greater access in video games. Today, AbleGamers is a leader in the development of equipment, programs and services to those living with disabilities, hardships, and quality-of-life issues that are a result of chronic illness or trauma. It is our goal to ensure that all people, regardless of their disability, can use gaming as a tool to have enriched social experiences with friends, family, and the world at large.

NASA Sets it's Eye on Cyber Space

NASAs new MMO{sidebar id=1}From the creators of America's Army, the title for the American military’s recruiting videogame, comes the invention of Moonbase Alpha, which will demonstrate astronaut conditions to those looking for a taste of NASA.  Gamepolitics says that the full game will be released next year.

Reportedly, NASA will even give people accreditation for completing certain parts of the MMO. Recruitment through the use of video games has been effective for the American military, and that's why NASA decided to launch its own version of New Age recruiting.  The use of video games is nothing new to the military. In fact, the US government hires teams of gamers to test out specific strategies against simulated enemies before being put into practice.

Next year, President Obama will be giving NASA an unprecedented budget increase to help meet the demands of the space program. This new MMO could be NASA's way of looking for young talent to help complete the projects that will need to get into the decades to come.

Nevertheless, the prospect of a video game that can get you certified with NASA is an interesting idea. The game will be set in the year 2035, which is the year that scientists believe humans will need to begin pushing colonization of other planets due to the Earth's overpopulation.

You can check out the official site for more details on the game and bookmark it for when the demo has launched in the next few months. Science has provided us with an amazing amount of technology through the space program. We think it is extremely interesting that the space program is now attempting to use technology to recruit new scientists.
