Since 2004, the AbleGamers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, has served more than 56 million members of the disabled community by advocating greater access in video games. Today, AbleGamers is a leader in the development of equipment, programs and services to those living with disabilities, hardships, and quality-of-life issues that are a result of chronic illness or trauma. It is our goal to ensure that all people, regardless of their disability, can use gaming as a tool to have enriched social experiences with friends, family, and the world at large.

{sidebar id=1}Not getting enough Vitamin C in your life? Your immune system probably doesn’t think so, and Activision agrees with it. Of course, they’re not referring to the same Vitamin C.
At E3 2011, Activision brought new information to light and announced it is aiming down an HTML 5 powered site to supplement your Call of Duty experiences both from the recent past (with Call of Duty: Black Ops), into the future (with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3), and presumably beyond with their Call of Duty Elite subscription service which will be available on anything from PC to tablet to mobile phone.
With the Call of Duty Elite service, subscribers will not only be able to keep track of important stats like kill/death ratios from one game to the next but can expect such compulsive features as heat-maps which will allow players to see where they’ve been killed, how they were killed, who killed them, who killed them the most, and where they’ve killed, who they’ve killed, and how they killed them. All of this available for each map the player has ever played on. But wait, there’s more…
If you act at no specific time, you’ll also get access to not only your friends’ stats, but those of your friends, too – even if your friends don’t play on the same system you do. Thanks to facebook connectivity, subscribers will be able to see their friends’ stats regardless of whether or not they’re one of your XBOX 360 friends. Bluffing those awesome kills you got on your PC while all the rest of your friends play on Playstation 3 will be a thing of the past thanks to the Call of Duty Elite service.
If you thought that’s all Call of Duty Elite has for you, you need to think again. The subscription service has a veritable plethora of other perks to offer: advanced matchmaking which may be the best part for a less than talented CoD player not unlike me.
We’re not done yet, we haven’t even delved into the free gifts that come with each subscription of the service; Players who subscribe at some point will also get informative videos to help them be all the CoD they can be.
…And if they act as some undetermined time, subscribers will also gain access to tournaments wherein they can win fabulous prizes! Since I don’t have a zany co-host, I’ll just have to tell potential subscribers what could be won by competing in primarily death-match and statistical challenges. Potential fabulous prizes include: t-shirts, jackets, belts, and even IPads.
So, how much will all this cost? Not sure. No prices have been given at this point in time, though more will be known within the next couple of months. What we do know is that the invite-only beta is set to begin on July 14, 2011. If you’d like to sign up for a chance to be included in the services elite beta test, head over to callofduty.com/elite and submit your email address, date of birth, and console preference to be considered to answer the call of duty.
