Since 2004, the AbleGamers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, has served more than 56 million members of the disabled community by advocating greater access in video games. Today, AbleGamers is a leader in the development of equipment, programs and services to those living with disabilities, hardships, and quality-of-life issues that are a result of chronic illness or trauma. It is our goal to ensure that all people, regardless of their disability, can use gaming as a tool to have enriched social experiences with friends, family, and the world at large.

If you’ve ever wanted to strap on a Jetpack while picking up levitating coins, now’s your chance. I sat down with Executive Producer Duncan Curtis at E3 to discuss Machine Gun Jetpack Halfbrick's latest iOS project. Users play Barry Steakfries, a man on a mission, with a jetpack, but not just any jet pack, this one happens to be propelled by machine gun fire.
The controls are as simple as I’ve ever seen them, tap the screen of your Ipad 2 or other favourite iOS device. If you hold your finger in place on the screen, this will cause Barry to hover, now all you have to do is avoid the lasers, rockets and let’s not forget the infamous electrified clotheslines.
The game plays like a traditional free-runner. Collect coins, while avoiding the danger. There are several items and upgrades that you can purchase from the in-game store, using the coins you collect during each level. Everything from clothing and accessories for Barry to special abilities that can be used in game to modify the users experience.
Why this game “Rock”ets for AbleGamers? It utilizes the touchscreen from the iOS device to make it truly a one button controller. It should also be noted that there aren’t any color specific items that would trip up our color-blind gamers and it has very clear onscreen callouts.
I just need to get better at the game...period, but its addicting.
