{sidebar id=3}{sidebar id=1}After a short hiatus, E3 Expo (Electronic Entertainment Expo) is returning to its glory days. The days with all its glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, sounds like my kind of place. Publishers and developers are very excited about showing off their new and upcoming games and devices. Thousands of people will be attending. Ablegamers will be covering E3 remotely this year, due to unforeseen circumstances (We send good thoughts to our oen Michelle Hinn, she is recovering). Nevertheless, you can expect high-quality coverage from our crack team of video game enthusiasts!
E3 Expo is the world's premiere trade show for computer and video games and related products. The show is owned by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the U.S. association dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of the companies, publishing interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers and the Internet.
With E3 just around the corner from June 1st 4th, we wanted to know what you the members and some of the staff were looking forward to seeing. We have everything from console games to massively multiplayer online games, MMOs, which are the most recurring genre in the survey.
GamerOnWheelz - Active MemberYou will find Kratos raining carnage and destruction upon the Gods who have betrayed him and the entire Ancient Greek world. Armed with his deadly double-chained blades, Kratos will take on mythology and darkest creatures while solving intricate puzzles on his merciless quest to destroy Olympus and the mighty Zeus himself.
"I'm really excited about this one because from what I've seen so far the graphics looks great. I also want to know what Sony is bringing to the table for this one, as I am a big fan the God Of War series."
This is an MMO based on the DC comic book universe, where you fight alongside or against DC superheroes.
"The game will allow you create your own superhero, which I think is awesome. In addition, the other great thing about it is its multiplayer features. I really think it is going to an all out great game."
The second installment to the award winning Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
"I'm really interested in seeing this one because I want to see what has changed with the multiplayer system and what has changed as far as game play is concerned. I'm a really big fan of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare series."
1armbandit - Active MemberThis game brings back the largest army of Marvel Super Heroes.
"The graphics look very nice. I like being able to control a little army and use them together for special attacks. It's nice how you can level up your characters and get new skills for lots more play time."
"I see how they did rip off version of the hulk but still, I want to see how this game plays out. I hear its going be like city of heroes. I like the fact of being able jump from one rooftop to the next or run super fast. Some best travel skills I have seen in games. It is also one of the few MMOs coming out on the ps3."
Bearstion - AbleGamers' Associate EditorThis is an action based MMO that revolves around an ongoing turf war between street gangs and law enforcement.
"Real-time Worlds in conjunction with the original creator of Grand Theft Auto will be unveiling their new title All Points Bulletin. APB will be an MMO hybrid consisting of real-time strategy movement, such as Fallout three in a persistent online world.
There will be two warring factions; cops and gang members. Factions will struggle to capture territory from each other 24/7.
GTA fans will recognize the general city layout and interactivity with all of the objects in the playing field. Perhaps, one of the most interesting aspects of APB will be the use of the AI characters to control territory once the player has gone offline.
As players capture increasing amounts of turf, the artificial intelligence of the NPCs will improve in order to better fight impending enemies. However, there will be a specific amount of available units to cover a very large area of turf. Therefore, player organizations will need to work in tandem with their computer counterparts to cover as much area as possible around the clock."
Dis - Ablegamers' Content ExpertThe third and final episode that takes you even further outside of City 17.
If you have been a fan of the Half-Life series as I have, then you have been waiting with anticipation for any info on the game. There is not a whole lot to say about this game at this time but I am betting that Valve has something up their sleeves for E3.
Every episode has been great so far. With fun gameplay, nice graphics and an exciting story. They should be bringing something good to the table, since it has taken some time to finish. Then maybe news that Half-Life 3 is in the works?
The sequel to the award-winning sci-fi RPG set in the 22nd Century.
The first Mass Effect was astounding and this one looks as though it will not disappoint. I want to see more on this one because in the teaser video, it says that Commander Shepard is killed in action and it looks as though he was killed by a Geth trooper. Is he dead or alive?
Bioware is doing a behind closed doors demo, letting you actually play a small portion of the game. There are more additions to this second installment and they sound cool. I like the idea that it will begin were you left off in the first game. So, whoever was killed will not return in the game. I need to play the game again and keep my saved game directory because Mass Effect 2 will take into account your games.
Sam Fisher returns once again but this time working in the daylight. He is a fugitive on the run trying to uncover a mole and protect those he cares.
These games have always had great graphics and interesting gameplay. They seem to be taking this one into a completely new direction. In the past, the missions were all about being stealthy doing reconnaissance and taking out targets. This time you have to try to blend in and keep on the move. Fighting hand to hand is a big part of the game and the moves look very fun. You can also use weapons in your missions.
This is a spy MMO, where you play an agent doing stealthy combat missions. At the same time, you are building a reputation and your own agency.
The Agency seems to have an intriguing concept. The game never stops even when you are offline. During this time, your operatives gather info on missions that you pick for them to do and finish a lot of the dirty work for you.
Then when you are online, you go and finish the job by yourself, with a friend or in a group and you can start new missions. You can decide what kind of agent that you want to be, a stealthy James Bond type or just a brawly killing machine. I am not sure what they will show at E3 but I would like to see what they have so far.
An MMO set during the time of Knights of the Old Republic.
I really want more info on this game. So far, it looks like a cool game but from what I have heard this game is not as far along as you would think. I know KOTORO is not supposed to be announced until 2010 but I am hoping for something, some say they may show a glimpse and some do not think anything will be available; we will see. Is it too early to say move over Galaxies?
In my and many other's opinion; No, anything would be better than that mess of a game after Sony destroyed it.
