Vtree and Ernie Els Launches First Fully Accessible Golf Game

my_golf_game

{sidebar id=1}My Golf Game is unlike any golf game you have ever seen.  Designed fully accessible, My Golf Game was created with the disabled gamer in mind, from the ground up.  With flexibility as a core principal in its design the entire game can be controlled via touchpad, mouse, Xbox controller and even voice recognition software.  In fact, once you are beyond the starting menu, we are talking about a fully one-switch mainstream golf game.

Once you are on the course all of your actions can be activated in the game by one switch, no matter your device , we even played it using our favorite voice recognition software, Say 2 play. (space bar for keyboard, left mouse click, or the X button on an Xbox controller)   Through the use of multiple clicks, no matter how you do it, you go through the motions of aiming your club and hitting the ball.

In a similar fashion to My Football Game, Vtree’s golf game is all about maintaining the fun of a mainstream game but adding in the accessibility of special needs games.  EA, the sponsor of both games, has showing tremendous faith in Vtree’s ability to make quality titles.  The makers of Madden NFL and Tiger Woods golf don't let just anyone use the EA brand.

More impressive was the additional sponsorship from PGA Pro Golfer Ernie Els.  Ernie understands the difficulties of disabilities all too well.  Ernie’s son Ben was diagnosed with autism at an early age.  After intensive therapy in a premier Florida facility, Ben’s condition has been managed but as we all know, the battle never ends.

“I am proud to be associated with “My Golf Game,” said Ernie Els.  “As a parent of a child with autism, it is great to see such a high quality game available to a wider group of gamers that will help develop key coordination skills.”

Yes, the game can actually help develop dexterity and coordination.  Although educational/skill building games are traditionally boring, Vtree’s CEO Chuck Bergen is determined to focus on quality and fun first.

my_golf_game_splash“Over the last ten years, on numerous occasions, families with special needs children have been asking us to look into bringing mainstream video games into the disabled gamer community,” said Chuck Bergen.

“Two years ago we decided to do just that,” he continued.  “We need to keep charging forward and developing more video games for this extremely underserved community.  We intend to show the world that you can make a game fully accessible and still make it fun to play.”

My Golf Game is the spiritual sequel to their hit football game.  Chuck explains, “We learned from MFG (My Football Game) that if you build a fun game that anyone can play, people will not only buy the game but love it and come back for more.

But we also heard from our community that we needed to develop a video game that could be played by using touch screen and speech recognition software, even more accessible, if you will. MGG (My Golf Game) does just that.”

And he’s right; My Golf Game is one of most accessible games we've seen in a while. More importantly, it has all the same qualities and level of fun you would expect in the next Tiger Woods golf game but 20 times more accessible in the Ernie Els version.
