I have a suggestion for folks who have trouble with concentrating on games, need to decompress, etc. PopCap is a small game company that has a good selection of games that have 'endless' versions, where you dont have to worry about points, no timer to try to keep up with...no pressure. the games are visually simple, can be played by colourblind, deaf, and are fantastic for those who are depressed.
Both Bejewled and Chuzzle are match 3 type games, and so are simple but addicting. one has three versions of essentially the same game, called Bejeweled, and another is Chuzzle. both very bright and colourful, eyecatching for children-Chuzzle is really cute because its basiclly round lil fuzzies with eyes, and aside from the game, you can play with them by wiggling them to make tem giggle, tickle them to make them sneeze-all their fur blows off, and they look very suprised!- tickle the occasional big one and he comes up with a nice juciy burp (my kids love that, of course). PopCap has a setup that if you write to them, explaining your situation, they are likely to send you a free game, if you keep in touch with them, to let them know if it was helpful for you. another site i like is MostFun. its a site where you download a player that allows you to play full games, at no cost-the catch is that they run a short ad every no now and again. the way to beat that is to just go offline and play... anyway, these ae just a few of the tricks i have to help myself deal with depression, while working around my various other disabilties |
